To access to Amazon Repricing Rules click Settings > Amazon Account Settings > Pricing Rules

The SellerExpress Automatic Repricing Tool is extremely powerful and gives you the ability to update your prices automatically within the minimum and maximum prices you set. This helpfile will give you a quick overview of how the repricing rules work and how to create your own. Please review the video for this helpfile as well for a better understand of the process.

Important: If you are selling both via FBA and from your own warehouse, and have both a FBA and Merchant listing on the same ASIN you need to set your rules in a certain way. You cannot have a FBA and Merchant listing of the same ASIN repricing on the same rule, you must have separate rules. The reason for this is because the postage is saved for the ASIN and if you have a postage cost on the Merchant listing, and free postage on the FBA sku then your repricing will not work correctly.

You also need to add the rules in a particular order on the Amazon settings screen. You must add the rule for the FBA products always first, and then add the rule for the Merchant listing last. Again this is due to how the postage is saved and calculated on the rules. If you follow both these rules your repricing should run correctly, but if you are unsure you can always contact support and the team will be happy to check the details for you.


Understanding your Rules:
Before you start editing or changing anything read the explanation of the pricing rules and how they are applied to your products. It’s important to get a firm understanding of how they work before you start editing or adding rules.

Your pricing rules are created with a selection of ‘Settings
’ which determine what your products price will do in certain situations. You start by determining a Minimum and Maximum threshold to make sure that your products don’t price too little or too high. These are set with Settings 4 & 5.

  • Setting 4: Minimum Sale Price
    Setting 4 is your Minimum Price, a price that your product should never sell below. The Minimum price you enter here will be based on the ‘Cost Price’ or ‘Sale Price’ field on each product. You can then add a value and/or percentage to this if you wish to.
  • Setting 5: Maximum Sale Price
    Setting 5 is your Maximum Price, a price that your product should never go above. The Maximum Price you enter here will be based on the ‘Cost Price’ or ‘Sale Price’ field on each product. You can then add a value and/or percentage to this if you wish to.





NB: Your Minimum and Maximum Prices include the extra money you get from Postage on Amazon, make sure to include these in your Min & Max Prices.

NB: When using a value and a percentage in your Pricing settings your price is calculated as shown: Cost + Percentage of Cost + Value

Beyond the thresholds we now have three settings to determine what your price will be depending on what the competition within these thresholds is selling at.

  • Setting 1: Only Seller
    Setting 1 determines what your price will be if you are the only person selling the product. This is based on Cost Price and you can then add onto this a value and/or percentage.


  • Setting 2: Beat Amazon/Fulfilled by Amazon By
    Setting 2 determines what you will do if the cheapest seller you can compete with is either Amazon themselves or a Fulfilled By Amazon (FBA) seller. You can set them to be beaten by a value and/or a percentage
  • Setting 3: Beat Competitor/BuyBox By
    Setting 3 determines what you will do if the cheapest seller you can compete with is a standard seller (Ie, not Amazon or FBA).You can set them to be beaten by a value and/or a percentage For more information on the difference between Compete with BuyBox/Competitors click here.


There are two other settings for us to touch upon which are not as common as the five we have looked at so far and are only used/useful in certain situations. Most sellers will not use this settings.

  • Setting 6: Maximum Price Drop
    This allows you to set the maximum amount (by percentage) that your product can drop by. Think of this as a floating Minimum Maximum Price. If someone starts selling the same product as you below or above your Maximum Price Drop threshold then your price will not change to compete.
    Example: If you have this set to 5% and your current price is £100, if a competitor comes in below £95 or above £105 your price will not change. If another seller comes in at £96 (let's say your rule is to beat competitor by £1) your price will change to £95 and your floating min / max will change to £90 and £100
  • Setting 7: New Lower Than Used Beat By (Not always visible)
    This setting only becomes available when your rule is targeted at ‘Used’ Products. Normally SellerExpress will compete within your condition only (New vs New, Used vs Used). By using Setting 7 you can compete Used vs New.


Now that you better understand the rules and how they work you can start setting them up yourself. The two sections below explain how to do this if you want to have a single rules for all your products or if you’d like to setup multiple rules.


Using a single rule for all your Products:
For most sellers a single pricing rule is more than enough for them to price the way they want. If this is the route you are taking them updating your pricing rule is easy as it is already there on the system! If you are using a single rule then you need to edit the settings of the existing ‘Default Rule’ to be what you want.

This is easily done by going to Settings, Amazon Account Settings, Pricing Rules and clicking ‘Default Rule’ on the table. Once you have edited the rule you can update by hitting ‘Update’

NB: The Default rule can not be removed, it is in SellerExpress as a Catch All rule.  You can only edit pricing settings (values/percentages) for this rule, other settings such as condition, format etc must stay the same.
