Startup: Adding eBay Products (On-Screen)

Follow

Now that you have created your eBay profile let’s take a look at how to list products onto eBay. This helpfile takes a look at how to do this manually through SellerExpress, if you’d like to learn about the bulk imports click here, be aware that the imports are for more advanced users already familiar with spreadsheet programs such as Excel.

Depending on what other marketplaces you are using you will list in two ways,

Listing on eBay only (Not Amazon ):
If you are listing on eBay and no other marketplace then click on “Inventory” then “Add Product”. Once you’ve done this an add product screen will open to you, enter the details you need to. You can enter all details but the required ones are,
  • Title : Your products title (within SellerExpress, not on eBay)
  • Cost : Your cost price
  • Quantity : How many of the product you have in stock
  • Condition : The products condition (separate to your condition on eBay
NB. If you have a personal SKU you can enter this under “Identifier/ Your SKU”
NB. If you did an import from eBay your SKU will be listed under Cat Num

Once you have entered these details click “Add” on the top right. Once you’ve done this you can skip “Listing on Amazon, Play & eBay”.

Listing on Amazon & eBay:
If you are going to list your product on Play.com or Amazon as well then you can use the ‘Find Box’ to retrieve product details from Amazon directly to create your product ready to list on all three sites at once.

On the top left of the screen you’ll notice a dropdown box next to ‘Search By’, change this dropdown to "Amazon UK Barcode". Then type the barcode into the box directly the left of this. Once you’re done hit "Go". This will display the product onscreen, select it and a product screen will open with most of the details already filled in. You will need to enter the following details yourself,
  • Cost : Your cost price
  • Quantity : How many of the product you have in stock
  • Condition : The products condition (separate to your condition on eBay)
NB. If you have a personal SKU you can enter this under “Identifier/ Your SKU”
NB. If you did an import from eBay your SKU will be listed under Cat Num

Once you’re ready hit “Add” to add the product to SellerExpress.

Listing the product on eBay:
Now that you have created your product on SellerExpress it is time to list your product on eBay. To do this click the “+” on the Marketplace Tab. This will expand a new section just like the one shown below,

Click the tick box under “List” and select your profile from the dropdown marked “Profile”. Once you’ve done this click on the green cog to the right side of the eBay row. This will open up a new window with your listing details, most of which have been brought over from your profile. You can review these details now before setting your product live.

There are two screens which were not on your profile,
  • Description : This is where you add your eBay listing description
  • Gallery / Images : This is used to add images. You can add up to 12 images which are stores on SellerExpress' servers.
NB. The template tab has a Preview option which will allow you to review your listing before it goes live.

Once you are ready hit “Update” and your product will list on SellerExpress’ next scheduled upload. Once you have completed listing your first test product you can continue with section 5 of our Quick Start Guide.
