An eBay variation listing is when multiple related products are sold under a single listing on eBay. This is designed to make it easier for customers to find the type of product they want and cheaper for you to list as you only need to pay a single listing fee. You can now setup and manage your variation listings within SellerExpress.
To access the variations screen select “Settings”, “eBay Account Settings” then “Variations”.
Creating A New Variation:
Create a new variation by selecting "New". Once you do you will need to fill in the following details for your new variation,
Variation Name : The title of your Variation, this will also be your listing title on eBay
Main Image : The URL of the primary image used on your listing
Site : Which eBay site this variation will be used on
Category : The eBay category this variation is to be listed in
NB. eBay have a list of which categories can support variations here.
Your attributes are the pieces of information which differ between your products within your variation. Examples for clothing would be size, colour, and slogan.
Once you have selected your eBay category a list of “Required Attributes” may appear, these are required to list variations in that category so must be selected and filled in per product. You will also have a list of “Optional Attributes”, attributes you have setup and used in previous variations which you can use again in this new variation.
To create a new attribute select “Create New Attribute”. You can have up to 5 attributes total per variation.
NB. The Image Attribute is the attribute which the images are based off. If you have a T-Shirt with different colours and each image is of a different coloured T-Shirt, colour would be your image attribute.
Once you have completed your attributes you can add your variation by selecting “Add”. Once a variation has been added you can’t edit the Attributes again so be sure you have them right before hitting the “Add” button!
Adding Products to your Variation:
Now that you have your variation we need to add products to it and set our attributes for each product. To do this navigate to the first product you want to add to your variation in SellerExpress and expand the marketplace tab.
The option "Variation Name" is a dropdown which you can use to add the variation to your listing.
If you haven’t setup your listing yet select a profile and click the green cog to bring up the eBay Product Settings Screen. Add your listing details as you would when creating a standard product on eBay. You’ll notice you now have access to the last tab, “Variations”.
The Variations tab allows you to edit your variations. As you add more products to your variations more products will appear on this screen and you can quickly and easily edit your attributes and images for each listings from this screen.
NB. Select the option “Show Filters” to filter your products by attributes
Once you have added a single variation if your products have already been add to SellerExpress you can add them to your variation from this screen as well by selecting the option “Add Variations”. Please remember that if you haven’t setup your listing then these products won't list on eBay until you have, even if they are in your variation.
NB. Your variation listings can be uploaded to eBay before you have completed all variation listings, if this is the case the new listings will be added as they are completed.
